1. Consider the children's needs, interests and abilities.
2. Focus on the children's holistic development.
3. It must be appropriate for their developmental level.
4. Provide meaningful experiences where children will remember what they have learnt during the theme.
5. Develop a web to determine what are the theme goals you want to achieve.
6. Think about the concepts you want the children to learn.
7. Create a list of vocabulary words that can be introduced to the children during the theme.
8. Select activities that are based on the children's stages of development.
9. Consider what are the resources that are available which can be used.
